Job Title: Diesel Mechanic with Heavy Equipment Experience

Location: Based in Abbeville LA

Position Overview:

Acadiana Shell & Limestone, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with expertise in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of diesel-powered heavy equipment, including trucks, trailers, dozers, and excavators. This role demands technical proficiency, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed inspections and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, providing timely and effective repairs.
  • Handle and maneuver heavy parts and materials as needed, including lifting and loading.
  • Work in various physical positions, such as standing, lying down, or in confined spaces, to access and repair equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with Operations, Purchasing Agents, and other team members regarding maintenance activities, repairs, and safety concerns.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards while performing duties.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic with a focus on heavy equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in repairing diesel engines and heavy machinery.
  • Must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory drug test.
  • Possession of a CDL is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
