The name Acadiana Shell & Limestone reflects our early beginnings when clam shells dredged from the Gulf of Mexico were widely used for road base and fill material in southern Louisiana. As environmental regulations evolved and the market shifted, limestone became the cornerstone of our business. What started as Coastal Shell transitioned into the trusted limestone and materials authority we are today.

Ownership and Expertise: A Solid Foundation
Co-owners Eddie and Kim Young are the driving force behind Acadiana Shell & Limestone‘s success. Eddie spearheads sales, mechanics, trucks, and the Abbeville location with the assistance of his son Clay Young and longstanding employee Sonny Gros. Kim, on the other hand, oversees financial aspects and manages the Lafayette yard, alongside his son Everett Young and stepson Douglas “Biff” Koonce.

At the core of the company’s operations lies a comprehensive workforce, including dispatchers and loader operators at each location, alongside roughly 20 truck drivers and a six-member office team. An additional service/construction division reinforces their commitment to comprehensive solutions.

Ownership & Executive Leadership
Co-owners Eddie Young and Kim Young serve as the foundation of the company’s operational strength and strategic direction.
Eddie Young oversees company-wide sales strategy, fleet operations, heavy equipment management, mechanical oversight, and the Abbeville yard. His hands-on leadership ensures that trucking, hauling, and material logistics operate efficiently and reliably across all service areas.
Kim Young manages financial operations, administrative leadership, and yard coordination, helping maintain the organizational stability and operational accountability that has sustained the company since 1984.
Together, they bring decades of real-world industry experience and a commitment to service that has defined the company for over 42 years.

Supporting ownership is a seasoned operations and management team responsible for daily execution, logistics coordination, and customer service across multiple locations.
Clay Young – Operations Manager
As Operations Manager, Clay Young oversees day-to-day operations, dispatch coordination, project scheduling, and overall logistics performance. His role ensures that material deliveries, sitework projects, and hauling operations are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule throughout South Louisiana.
Brant Young – New Iberia Yard Manager
Brant Young leads operations at the New Iberia yard, managing inventory control, material distribution, customer coordination, and regional dispatching. His oversight ensures dependable material availability and responsive service for contractors and property owners in the surrounding area.
Gussie Broussard – Director of Sales
As Director of Sales, Gussie Broussard leads customer engagement, contractor partnerships, and project consultations. With extensive industry knowledge, she works directly with clients to identify material requirements, recommend appropriate solutions, and support projects from initial inquiry to completion.
